The Point Community Center opened in 2009 in partnership with Centerpoint Church. Our mission is to foster a culture of physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth that meets the needs of the greater Kalamazoo area through both internal programming and partnerships with local initiatives. It is a large multi-use facility of 24,000 square feet. Our donation-based model allows individuals to enter at no cost. All donations made support our operations and ministry work. Please support us if you are able.
Our facility includes a full gymnasium with two basketball or volleyball courts, a fitness center, and a concessions stand which consists of a coffee bar, cold drinks, and snacks. We offer weekly activities, including Toddler Time, open gym for pickleball and basketball, a chance to meet with a fitness trainer who also specializes in sports injury therapy, and toddler playtime.
We are proud to introduce our space as the new home to KABAS, Kalamazoo Academy for Behavioral and Academic Success, a private year-round elementary school serving children with learning needs in grades K-6. Visit https://www.kalamazooschool.org for more information.
We had a fantastic 2024 Winter season with 150 players making up 18 teams. This was a huge upswing from our first year last year of 48 players and 8 teams. The Point Community Center Staff worked hard organizing, hosting, and overseeing all practices, games, and our awesome Celebration Night. The coaches, referees, and all other volunteers and helpers did an amazing job. A great shout out to all the parents many of whom stepped up when there was a call for help.
